The keys to technical understanding

To master your projects in RhinoCapture STREO, here are the essential terms to remember:

  • Stereoscopic Base: this is the actual distance traveled by the aircraft between two shots. It determines the “strength” of the relief.
  • Stereoscopic Pair: the combination of two consecutive photos. This is the basic building block that enables 3D vision.
  • Overlap: the area common to both photos in a pair. 3D vision is only possible in this area.
  • Epipolar Alignment: the internal process that perfectly aligns the photos on the horizontal axis. This ensures your visual comfort and prevents headaches.
  • Stereoscopic Model: the virtual 3D space generated in your Rhino window, allowing you to measure or digitize with precision.
